How To Transition Biker Shorts Into Fall

Hello, World!

If bike shorts are one thing, they’re versatile.  Gone are the days when breaking a sweat is the only reason to wear them. Fashion trends of past eras are constantly cycling style in and out, and biker shorts is no exception it has made a comeback from the ’80s and ’90s. The Athletic shorts can be dressed up for a night out with heels, blazers, etc., or dressed down with sneakers to run errands or casual days with friends.

I’ve been seeing so many people have fun styling bikers’ shorts that I had to jump on the bandwagon. The pandemic kept us all inside last year, and I’ve gained some much-needed weight (I can hear you laughing at this part, but I’m ignoring it), boosting my confidence, even more, to step into the trend.

You don’t have to write off your bikers shorts as cooler weather starts to creep in and we say goodbye to summer. There’s no better way to ooze into cooler than transitioning this ideal piece into fall wear.

Biker shorts with A sweatshirt

One of the most popular ways of styling bike shorts is wearing them with an oversized pullover sweatshirt. Thanks to Princess Diana's iconic photo. Whether you pair them with a pullover, crop, or hoodie sweatshirt, the loungewear can make the outfit look less sloppy.

Biker shorts with heels

Sneakers aren’t the only appropriate shoes to wear with biker shorts. You can go further and play around styling them, and fall is the best season to add layers and accessories. Throwing on a pair of heels is a fun way to step up the biker short fashion game. In this case, I choose knee-high boots, white button oversize shirt with my sunny and gold necklace.

Biker shorts with A blazer

A blazer with biker shorts might be my favorite way to wear them. Whether you prefer an oversized, dad, or tailored fit, throwing on a blazer over biker shorts, level up the look from athletic to chic, then you add some of your favorite accessories and chunky boots to build from there. This look was inspired by one of my favorite people I follow on Instagram signedblake.

There are other fun ways to transition biker shorts into fall, whether it’s with a sweater, leather jacket, puffer vest; getting the most out of them before winter set in is a fun way to play with layers. Let me know in the comment if you’re team dress-up biker shorts or team stick to workout.
